About us
We are the research group for data science and machine learning at the Cluster of Excellence “Machine Learning for Science” at University of Tübingen.
Our group performs research at the interface of deep generative models, scalable probabilistic inference methods, and information theory. We work on a diverse range of applications large language models, model compression, on-device inference in large models, and natural sciences. Our research combines algorithm development with analytical methods, often focusing on finding the right approximation technique to overcome given resource constraints.
Our research group is headed by Prof. Robert Bamler.
